- I've just got a Zip drive and I am having SCSI problems with it and
- my CD-ROM.
-
- My system is an A2000 with a GVP Series II controller. This has the
- factory installed hard drive and a Sony CD-ROM connected to it.
-
- When I plugged the Zip into the external SCSI port, my system refused
- to boot, it appeared to get to the bit where it scans the SCSI bus,
- and stopped with the SCSI light on constantly. If I disconnect the
- cable from the Zip, leaving it plugged into the controller, it still
- hangs. However if I disconnect the SCSI cable from the CDROM, then
- the system boots up and HDToolBox recognises the Zip.
-
- I have tried all combinations of termination on both the Zip and CD,
- there don't appear to be any resistors by the GVP external port, maybe
- they are in the connector and plugging the cable in disconnects them.
-
- Does *anyone* have *any* ideas on this one. Opening up my A2000 and
- removing the power supply/floppy drive chassis to plug in a cable
- every time I want to read a CD is not my idea of user-friendly.
-
- TIA
